Affirmations Don’t Work

“Affirmations don’t work!”

I agree, to an extent.  I believe that affirmations, by themselves, are nothing more than wishes.

Making a wish on a star, on a dandelion flower, when blowing out your birthday candles, or at 11:11 every day; all of these things are just as useless as affirmations.

Your wishes and affirmations are CLUES.  Clues to what you desire.  But, life doesn’t give you what you desire.  Life, the Universe, God-whatever you believe-gives you what you WORK FOR.

You know about the story of “The Little Engine That Could“?  He believed he could get over that hill and he did.  But, it was more than just that.  He MOVED.  He took ACTION.

Picture this:  An athlete is sitting on a bench in the gym.  He looks at the weights.  He says, “I think I can” over and over.  He then stands up…and walks out of the gym.

THAT is how people treat affirmations.  As just words that will magically do something that they themselves are too scared to do.

Affirmations DO work, to be honest.  But they are only one small piece of the recipe.  It’s like baking a cake without flour. It’s not going to come out the way you want.

Here’s the Recipe:

  1. Affirmations
  2. Belief
  3. Action
  4. Evaluation
  5. Rinse and Repeat until desired results are achieved.

Definition of affirm:  state as a fact; assert strongly and publicly.

If you treat an affirmation as a wish, you are denying yourself whatever it is you truly desire and deserve.

Treat an affirmation as a DECLARATION.  BELIEVE.  Then, take ACTION.

And then, in the grand scheme of things, yes, affirmations DO work.  But, they do not work by themselves.

Don’t be lazy.  Stop wishing things were different than they are.  Start changing yourself and your life will have no choice but to become what you make it to be.

You want to see massive CHANGE in your life?  Let me recommend a set of videos by my mentor, Jenn Scalia about manifestation (CLICK HERE).  It is a phenomenal process that takes affirmations to a whole new level by manifesting everything you desire.

In the mean time…

The most important relationship you will ever have is the one with yourself. Invest in YOU because only you can create a life you love.
