There’s never enough time, right?
Sadly, that’s not exactly true. That is a mindset. A way of thinking and perceiving what is happening around you.
See, we all get the same amount of time in a day. We each get 24 hours or 1,440 minutes or 86,400 seconds per day.
If your boss told you they would give you $1 for every minute you were productive, would you not bend over backwards to get that $1,440? Would you stay up late, work without breaks, keep moving as long as your body could handle it?
Because in your mind, there’s now VALUE for every minute of the day. Your mind understands the value of $1 and can create a vision for how that $1,440 per day would change your life. You’ll mentally spend it on what you want or need to, and then you’ll rest later. You’ve shifted your mindset to “how can I do this?”
Hell, there’s even commercials for the Cash 4 Life lottery…they ask “What Would You Do If You Won $1000 A Day For Life?” Now, the odds of winning are 1 in MANY MILLIONS (depends on your state). The commercials are enticing. The winnings sound amazing. They are selling you your own dream.
I personally don’t bother with the lottery. As a child, growing up in a small shop that sold lottery tickets, I watched people blow their paychecks every Friday. Even as a small child I figured out that they worked hard to get a paycheck, only to spend it on the hope that they will “hit it big” and be able to retire from their jobs. That never made sense to me.
See, the thing is, we all have big dreams for our lives. We all have plenty of time. We all have the potential to “hit it big” in life. But, what is lacking is FOCUS. It’s not time. It really isn’t even money. It’s making the most of the time we’ve been given, in the pursuit of what our purpose and mission is in this life.
What you are intended to do on this planet, in this lifetime, you already have everything you need to accomplish it. And if there’s anything you need to help you along the way, there will be a way to receive it. There is time to do what you’ve been put on this earth to do, AS SOON AS you stop wasting time.
Here’s your Action Step for today:
Take one daily “task” that is unfocused, misaligned with your goals and CUT IT OUT. Something you do every day, that doesn’t lift you up, serve you or move you in the direction you know you’re supposed to go. If it is not something you can cut completely (like tossing the cell phone in the trash because it’s the only phone # your kids can reach you on) then CUT IT 50% or more.
Example: uninstall all the brain wave wasting apps on your phone. You know, those ones that steal your time but give you nothing in return but battery drain…
Example: set a timer for your computer time. You get 30 minutes on the laptop when you get home from work. THAT’S IT. When the timer goes off, you shut it down.
Example: set a timer for your TV time. You get 60 minutes for a night, after dinner, to watch what you want then you shut it off.
After you’ve done this, you’re going to think…”So now what? Now what do I do with the extra time that I have?”
This is the BEST part…YOU DECIDE
Spend time with your family
Spend time reading, working on yourself
Spend time exercising, doing a hobby or working on your goals.
YOU JUST GOT “MORE” TIME….
Focus. Move. Produce. LIVE.
